I couldn't ever choose the worst or the best or my favorite of these names, they all stick in my mind. For instance:
1. Mary Cherry
2. Robin Hood
3. Jump-Up Wagenka
4. Queen Esther Teal
5. Davy Crockett
6. Anthony Hezakiah (or Hezakiah Anthony....no one was ever sure which it was)
7. Skippy Drips
8. Zoe Pfouts
9. Candy Cain
10. Gina Longfield-Smith Schmidt (try and say that 5 times fast!!)
11. Matt Platt
The are all real people. None of them have been a part of my life for years, but their names will stick with me forever. What were their parents thinking???
WOW. If their names are any indication, you have known some interesting people!!
ReplyDeleteMy life's journey has taken me to some interesting places, indeed! And some (not all) of these folks were a hoot!!
ReplyDeleteDavey Crockett? Seriously???
ReplyDeleteLMAO!!! oh my, that's funny :)
Absolutely! Pinky Swear!!
ReplyDeleteEd had a high school classmate named Richard Liss. Of course, Richard was shortened to Dick. That has to close to the top of any list!
ReplyDeletePoor, poor man!
ReplyDeleteMellodee, I often read a name in our local newspaper and think it might be a joke (surely nobody would name their child that!). You shared some fun names. I'll never forget when we went into the 5th grande, and our new teacher called the roll with the last name first. John Black had a horrible 5th grade year! Thanks for the very kind comment you left on my post today. laurie
ReplyDeleteWell, with that boy you can't really blame the parents, I gues. Joe Black is a rather ordinary name. But the teacher!! Couldn't she cop a clue and change her procedure to spare the poor kid?? Rigidity almost always hurts more than it helps!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments. You say such nice things!
